Well OK! We have many things to cover here if we plan to get some banjo players in gear. I was reading some attempts at theory explanation on the banjo -L and my natural reaction is to just leave off that stuff unless you go for Bela Fleck or Trishka. You just can't limit harmony theory to the 1st 4th and 5th tones of the key you have chosen. It's fine for folk music, but if you want to play in the whole realm get a keyboard and a few lessons
I really don't think I would have taken this gig if I had known that a banjo player had to have machinist skills. I have just barely gotten my banjo working and now I'm like the president of all banjos and in charge of the banjo home. That's right, me Texino and you can't do squat about it.
Right now it's banjo heads I'm interested in, so I'm going to be talking about how to get them and stuff. Should be interesting.
Well no, I'm not. I want to talk about those banjos that have the 5th string buried inside of the neck. I guess they must use a laser beam or something for digging them out. I think it's a cool invention, but there are others who say that it makes it tough to tune. I think that bunch may just be playing sour grapes because they don't want to change. I have to say that I have been picking up banjos for a good many years and that 5th peg has never bothered me too awful. Another thing I am concerned with is the resistance of banjos to play other styles besides this roll thing. I mean imagine how boring a guitar would become if you just finger picked it all the time. Banjos are easy to fret, yet the action is pretty high. That means you could flat pick them or use a slide. Another thing that pops up is the idea of an adjustable bridge. If you had one of those on your banjo you could increase your top tension for loudness. If you thought up something like that for a guitar you would just let it rest because someone would have thought it up. You can't be so certain when you are dealing banjo stuff though; those people are conservative to a fault. I may be the banjo Emperor, but I am always wary of a Gal or Guy who only plays the banjo and nothing else. Well what ever you are playing, enjoy your self and .....................................Don't Play Too Much

There will soon be more it's the law
